#R1# Medina fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Hammer throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. #CL2# Medina closes the distance and clinches. Hammer tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Medina lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Hammer or not. #BC# Hammer escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
#TD2# Medina shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Medina was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Hammer taking a bit of punishment here - Medina scoring with strikes. Medina trying to control the action but Hammer is working from the bottom. Hammer takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

#T2# Medina is trying to drag Hammer to the mat but Hammer just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Hammer stalling.
#TD2# Medina decides to pull guard. Hammer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Hammer pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Medina is keeping the position for now. Medina managing to control the position. Alex Medina dominated that round. The cut man is working on Adam Hammer's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. #T4# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Medina is nestled in close to Hammer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Medina trying to control the pace. Medina is continuing to stall. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Medina lands strikes from half guard. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Alex Medina showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Adam Hammer's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round! #R3# Medina fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Medina with a body punch. A glancing blow. Medina changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hammer tries to avoid it but Medina manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hammer to the ground. Hammer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Medina shoots in for a double leg but Hammer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Alex Medina seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#CL2# Medina gets in close and instigates a clinch. Hammer is looking to take this one to the mat. Medina lands with a light punch inside. Hammer jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Medina walks away with a smile on his face. Hammer gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. #CL2# Medina clinches up against the cage. He must have been on the weights. Hammer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Medina manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Hammer sprawls well initially but Medina persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Hammer avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Medina. Medina not doing much here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!#SUB2# Medina looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Hammer is trying to stand up here but Medina is controlling him well. #REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. And that's the end of the fight! Alex Medina comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Medina has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. #R1# Medina shoots in and drives through. Penn sprawls well. As Medina backs off Penn throws a huge counter combo but Medina manages to avoid it all. Penn has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Medina is landing a low percentage of strikes. Medina has his takedown stuffed#KD2# and Penn counters with a crisp one two that drops Medina! Penn thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Medina to his feet! Medina is in big trouble!#ROC2# Medina is rocked! Penn swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Medina is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Medina fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Penn manages to avoid it. Penn misses with a hook
#TD# and Medina counters with a shoot takedown. Penn fights it but they end up in guard. Medina controls from within his opponent's guard. Medina missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Medina stops Penn from standing up. Medina has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Medina with a nice head shot there. Penn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Medina. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#T1# Medina landing with the ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Medina accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Medina prevents Penn from getting back to his feet. Medina takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Medina gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Medina takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Medina. That's going to take a lot out of him. Medina is breathing heavily. Penn lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Penn connects with a right that clearly hurt Medina. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Penn proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Medina collapses and taps out under the pressure!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luke Penn! Luke Penn was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
