#R1# Yates throws a right hand that Spears ducks under and follows up with a left that Spears also avoids with ease. Spears could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Yates tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Yates connects with a high kick. #CUT2# It looks like Buford Spears has been cut. Spears looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Yates lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Spears takes a jab right on the kisser.
Yates misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Spears tries to counter by clinching up but Yates breaks away and moves out of range. Yates throws a right hand that Spears ducks under and follows up with a left that Spears also avoids with ease. Nice sprawl there from Yates as Spears shoots in. Spears on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
#TD# Spears shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Spears showed some decent athleticism there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!#SUB# Spears is trying to work for a kimura but Yates is defending well.

Yates is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. #SUB# Spears is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Yates has managed to free his arm - good work. #SUB# Spears is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

#T2# The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.#ES2# Yates pushes Spears off and gets back to his feet. Spears on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.#KD2# Yates lands a left and a right that send Spears crashing to the mat, dazed. Yates thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!#ROC2# Spears is rocked! Yates lands a big right hook! Spears looks hurt but is still standing! Yates lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Spears falls down and Yates dives in with a huge hammer fist! Spears's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Yates runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
