#R1# Carver leaves Jett with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jett shoots in for a takedown but Carver shows good takedown defense. Carver changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Jett goes for a double leg but Carver avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Carver continues to drive forward. Johnnie Carver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Billy Jett.#CL# Carver clinches up with Jett and pushes him back against the cage.#TD# Carver manages to pull guard.
Jett stops Carver from standing up. Carver keeping moving, preventing Jett from controlling successfully. Carver is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jett is controlling him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#T1# Jett looking to sit in guard and control but Carver gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. #REVR# Carver wants to get up but he can't break Jett's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. #SU# Jett is working an open guard so Carver takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Jett throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Carver really is a fat lump. Jett fails to land the takedown. Jett moves in looking to clinch but Carver pushes him off. Jett tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Jett throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Carver's waist but Carver gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jett off to one side. Carver attempts a counter takedown but Jett avoids it well and moves away. Carver slaps away a takedown attempt from Jett, before circling back to the center of the mat.#T2# No luck with that takedown attempt from Jett. Jett looks winded!#CL# Carver has Jett up against the cage in a clinch.
Jett is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.#TD# Carver ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Carver no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Jett wants to control from the top but Carver keeps moving. Carver wants to stand and escape but Jett is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jett tries to stand but Carver is controlling from the bottom. Carver wants to sweep here but Jett controlling him for the moment. #T3# Carver might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.#SUB# Carver working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jett doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jett manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Jett pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Carver is keeping the position for now. Jett must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.#SUB# Carver is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jett is aware though and is defending well. Carver controlling Jett's posture. #REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.#T4# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sloppy strikes from Carver. Those never looked like landing. Jett slips a jab and a cross from Carver.
Carver throws a jab when Jett was well out of range. Carver closes the distance looking to clinch and Jett counters with a three punch combo that has Carver backing up. Carver nods at Jett to acknowledge the strikes. Jett is trying hard to land a takedown here. Carver sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Carver drops down looking for a counter takedown but Jett sprawls and moves away. Carver scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jett fails with a takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That will dishearten Jett somewhat. Carver throws a big counter combination but Jett scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Carver keeps the fight on the outside. #TD# Carver manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Jett throws an elbow that misses. Carver uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jett's guard. Jett is trying to force a seperation but Carver has the dominant position.#BC# Carver pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Johnnie Carver is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jett misses with an attempted mid kick.

#CUT2# It looks like Johnnie Carver has been cut.#CL2# Jett moves into the clinch. Jett is trying to drag Carver to the mat but Carver just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Johnnie Carver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Billy Jett. Carver throws a punch but it's blocked by Jett. #T2# Carver throws an elbow but it misses.
Jett tries to stall but Carver uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
#BC# Carver breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Carver throws a right and a left that Jett avoids nicely. #CL# Carver gets in close and instigates a clinch. Carver looking to stall.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jett. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jett throws a sloppy head kick and Carver moves out of range easily. Jett shoots for a double leg takedown but Carver sprawls well. He's pushed Jett's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. As Jett tries to get set, Carver tries to push him back and clinch up but Jett manages to avoid the attempt. Billy Jett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carver is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jett slips a jab and a cross from Carver.
Jett throws a low kick but it's checked well by Carver. Carver waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Jett. Carver throws the left hand but Jett avoids the punch easily. Jett slips a jab and a cross from Carver.

Carver tries to clinch up but Jett circles away and keeps his distance. Jett steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Carver. Jett shoots in looking for a takedown. Carver tries to sprawl out of it but Jett keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carver manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jett takes one to the chin there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jett paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Carver - great work!
