He's tossed Laden clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! You can see the frustration on Laden's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Laden is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Gracie tightening his grip on Laden, looking for the choke. #T1# Gracie controls the action.#SUB# Gracie is looking for the choke from the back position but Laden is controlling his hands well. #SUB# Gracie is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Laden knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Laden for a finish. McCarthy wants to stand but Laden has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard. McCarthy looking to pass the guard. McCarthy trying to control but Laden is working from the bottom. McCarthy wants to stand but Laden has a closed guard, so he can't escape. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Laden is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Laden avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Karlson. Laden is looking to improve his position.

#R1# Aurelio uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Laden. Laden throws a hook but Aurelio avoids it easily. Aurelio scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Aurelio takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Laden misses with a hook
and Aurelio counters with a nice uppercut. #ROC# Laden is rocked! Laden on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Laden is still on wobbly legs! Can Aurelio finish him? Ouch! a nice leg kick from Aurelio, right into the meat.
Laden glances at the clock... BAM! Aurelio nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Laden crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Laden is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Laden gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Laden in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Great is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Laden throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Laden avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Laden can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hopkins controls the pace. Hopkins advances position into side control! Hopkins has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hopkins creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Hopkins sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Laden is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
