#R1##CL# Petersen clinches. Petersen tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hippo just stands there and leans against the cage. Petersen is defending well against a takedown attempt. Hippo is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Petersen to keep the fight standing.#TD# Petersen works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Petersen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Hippo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Petersen is one step ahead there. Hippo has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Petersen is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. #T1# Hippo wants to get back to his feet but Petersen passes into half guard.
Petersen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Well, if Petersen is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T2# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hippo tries to get to full guard but Petersen has control of the leg. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.#SUB2# Hippo actively working from the bottom here.#REF3# The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hippo. August Petersen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bubba Hippo. Hippo misses with the combination.
Petersen is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Hippo.#T3# Hippo closes the distance but Petersen moves to the side and Petersen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Bubba Hippo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hippo fails with a takedown attempt. Hippo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Petersen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. #CL# Petersen pushes Hippo up against the cage in a clinch. Petersen jumps guard but Hippo stands there with Petersen around his waist. Petersen gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hippo is looking for a takedown.#T4##TD2# Hippo is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Petersen can't fight it off and eventually Hippo manages to take the fight to the floor. Petersen looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Petersen keeping moving, preventing Hippo from controlling successfully. #SUB# Petersen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Petersen keeping moving, preventing Hippo from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
August Petersen dominated that round. That's time! Petersen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. #R2# Hippo throws a head kick that misses. Hippo throws a leg kick but Petersen sees it coming and moves out of range. It looked like Petersen wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Petersen is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hippo can do to turn this around? Hippo rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

#CL# and Petersen holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Petersen wants to take the fight to the mat but Hippo manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Hippo is trying to pull guard but Petersen has him pressed against the cage. Petersen swings wildly with an uppercut but Hippo uses good head movement to avoid it. Hippo stops a takedown attempt from Petersen.

Hippo steps away and waves a wobbly Petersen back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!#ROC2# Petersen is rocked!#CUT2# It looks like August Petersen has been cut. Hippo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Petersen swivels and escapes. Petersen is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Hippo. Oh Petersen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!#TD2# Hippo shoots and scores a devastating slam takedown! Petersen is unconscious as Hippo celebrates over his stricken foe!
