Whitehead closes the distance and clinches up with Jeraldino, looking for a takedown. Whitehead pushes Jeraldino against the cage but Jeraldino circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.#CL# Whitehead moves into range and clinches up with Jeraldino.#TD2# Whitehead is fighting off a takedown attempt but Jeraldino is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Whitehead to the mat. Whitehead regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Jeraldino tries to free his leg and advance position but Whitehead is retaining full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jeraldino lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. #R1##TD2# Smudak shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Whitehead is trying to defend but Smudak finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Smudak perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Whitehead punching from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Whitehead pushes Smudak off looking to stand but Smudak dives back in and keeps control.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Smudak is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Smudak missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Whitehead tries to kick Smudak off in order to stand up. Smudak Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Smudak has an Americana. Whitehead didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Smudak is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Smudak hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

#TD2# Cesar throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Whitehead tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cesar is in Whitehead's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cesar wants to stand but Whitehead is controlling his posture from full guard. Cesar controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Whitehead trying to keep a closed guard but Cesar is proving a slippery customer.

#R1##TD# Whitehead closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. David quickly recovers to half guard. Whitehead thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed David's head. David is trying to control but can't.
David really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Whitehead. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Whitehead moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from David.
David dodges the ground and pound from Whitehead. David is trying to work for a sweep but Whitehead has mounted him! David is desperately trying to improve his position but Whitehead has a good base and remains in mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
