#R1# Challen throws a leg kick and Burgess counters with a two punch combo. Ben Challen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Challen looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!#TD# Challen gets caught flat footed, as Burgess shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Burgess is working Challen over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Burgess content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Burgess keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Challen 's head.#ROC# Challen is rocked!#SU# Burgess decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Challen , up you get! Challen is still on wobbly legs! Can Burgess finish him?#TD# Burgess gets a double leg takedown into Challen 's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Burgess stands up over Challen , holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Burgess postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Challen covers up, he's hurt! Burgess keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Burgess and the ref steps in to end the fight! Burgess can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

#R1##TD# Challen tries to sprawl but Tate drives through with a takedown into half guard. Tate lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Challen moves into full guard.
Challen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Challen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Tate connects with a couple of short punches. Tate chips away with some ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tate with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Tate throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Tate throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Challen works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Challen managing to control the position. Tate stands up over Challen , holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. #T1# Challen has momentary wrist control but Tate slips an elbow through the middle. Tate postures up in Challen 's guard and throws a big left but Challen blocks it. Tate is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Tate looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Challen looking for a sweep. Not yet Challen , not yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tate is in close to Challen 's body, working some short punches and elbows. Tate is looking to stand up but Challen won't let him. Challen being controlled here, momentarily. Challen has momentary wrist control but Tate slips an elbow through the middle. Tate distracts Challen with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.#T2# Tate throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Challen works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Challen is trying to keep Tate in close.

Nice. Challen wants to stand but Tate has his arm trapped. You can see the frustration on Tate's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tate thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Challen 's head. Tate is nestled in close to Challen , controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Tate lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Challen is trying to get back to full guard. Tate trying to control the pace. Challen has a hand on Tate's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Tate takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Challen tries to reverse the position but Tate maintains control. Tate is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Challen can do to turn this around? Tate lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Tate with shots to the head and body - Challen looks very uncomfortable down there. #T2# Tate punishing his opponent with strikes. Challen is in a horrible position here. Tate smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Challen wants to try and get back to his feet. Tate pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Tate looking to control and managing it successfully. BOOM! Tate connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Tate dominating with strikes here. Challen is controlling an arm, preventing Tate from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Tate has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Challen 's body.
Tate lands with a hammerfist to the side of Challen 's head. Tate has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tate is landing with strikes. Challen can't take much more of this. Tate lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Tate lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Tate.
Challen trying to control the hands but Tate breaks the grip. Tate controls the action. Challen covers up after that shot from Tate.
Tate cracks Challen with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Challen from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Challen is breathing heavily. Tate is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Tate gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Tate gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Tate apologises and we restart here on the feet.
This has been an exciting period of action! Tate throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Sydney Tate dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. #R3# A decent looking body kick lands there for Challen . Tate tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Challen paws at him with a jab and circles away.#TD# Tate darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Tate is taking a breather. Challen says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Tate stops Challen from getting back to his feet.
Sydney Tate overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tate winds up and cracks Challen with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Tate drops an elbow to the side of Challen 's head. Challen taking some punishment here, with Tate in his half guard. Tate manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.#ES# Tate has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Challen has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.#T4# Tate tries to pull guard but Challen forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Tate being controlled against the cage.#BC2# Challen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tate moves in looking to clinch but Challen pushes him off. Challen lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Challen throws a series of punches but Tate moves out of range. Ben Challen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Sydney Tate is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Tate blocks a head kick by Challen .
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sydney Tate. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tate, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
