Alexei wants to control from the top but Padilla keeps moving. Alexei scores with a decent looking elbow strike.#CUT2# It looks like Rick Padilla has been cut. Alexei won't allow Padilla to get back to his feet. Alexei is working the ground and pound from guard. Padilla pushes Rapper against the cage but Rapper circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Crunch! Rapper slams his shin into Padilla's torso. A solid body kick from Padilla. Padilla throws a hook to the side of Rapper's head but Rapper sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Rapper drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Padilla defends it well. Padilla dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Padilla looks for a takedown but Rapper sprawls well. Padilla shoots in for a double leg but Rapper sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rick Padilla. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Padilla slaps away a takedown attempt from Rapper, before circling back to the center of the mat. Padilla drops his hands momentarily and Rapper takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Rapper misses with a series of wild punches.
