Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Landon Cannon (ranked 24666 p4p, 598 weight class) and Ken Sterling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Landon Cannon! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Ken Sterling! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Cannon drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Cannon (4) vs (0) Sterling Cannon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Cannon trying to control the position but Sterling is working away. Cannon thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cannon working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Cannon is trying to get an arm triangle but Sterling is defending well.

#R1# Sap leaves Sterling with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Sap cracks Sterling with a right hand to the side of the head. Sap keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sap scores with the left hand. Sterling knows he should have avoided that one. Sap displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sterling throws out the jab. Sterling looks to clinch #TD# so Sap counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Sterling trying to keep a closed guard but Sap is proving a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sap postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Sap is pushing down on Sterling's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sap makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Sap has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sap showing good wrestling skills to control the position. #T4# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sap trying to control but Sterling is working from the bottom. Sap trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Sap trying to control the position from guard on top but Sterling is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sterling is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sap's corner. There ya go! There ya go! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sap trying to control but Sterling is working from the bottom. Very smooth. Sterling tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.#SUB# Sap is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Sterling with him. Sterling is trying to defend but Sap has an arm under the chin now! Sterling grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Fighter D is controlling Sterling's trapped leg to prevent Sterling from advancing to side control. Fighter D tries to get to full guard but Sterling has control of the leg. Sterling seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fighter D does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Sterling might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Fighter D haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Fighter D desperately trying to maintain half guard. Sterling throwing shots but Fighter D is blocking nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sterling seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fighter D does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Sterling has his takedown stuffed and Fighter D counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Sterling takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
