Gonzalez shoots in looking for a takedown but Beasley manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gonzalez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Beasley tries to counter with a takedown but Gonzalez is quick to defend against it. Luke Beasley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gonzalez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Beasley manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
