#R1# McCann throws out a loose jab but Dinklestopper uses good head movement to avoid it. And Dinklestopper counters with a quick kick to the body but McCann blocks it.#TD2# McCann closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dinklestopper to the mat! Dinklestopper manages to get full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McCann throwing strikes from guard but Dinklestopper blocks nicely. Dinklestopper being controlled here, momentarily. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McCann accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McCann is stalling in the full guard. McCann working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. #T1# Dinklestopper avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. McCann seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. McCann stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dinklestopper swivels though and keeps the full guard. McCann is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.#REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. McCann swings widly with a right hand
and Dinklestopper counters with a flying knee. Nice. Dinklestopper moves out of range of the strikes. Dinklestopper closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. #T2# McCann throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Dinklestopper throws a quick counter head kick but McCann was just out of range. Dinklestopper uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McCann.
Dinklestopper seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Victor McCann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McCann throws an off balance right hand
and Dinklestopper makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. McCann really felt that one!#TD2# Dinklestopper gets caught flat footed, as McCann shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Dinklestopper is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and McCann dives into side control.
#REVR# Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The referee asks McCann politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. McCann prefers to stall for the moment though. Dinklestopper is breathing heavily. Dinklestopper avoids any damage from the ground and pound of McCann. McCann has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. McCann in side control lands a decent elbow. #T3# McCann landing strikes. McCann working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. McCann moves into full mount! #SUB2# McCann jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Dinklestopper manages to avoid the submission attempt. McCann remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. McCann throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.#T4# Check out the look on McCann's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. McCann throwing shots but missing, from side control. Dinklestopper defending against the ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. McCann happy to just control the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Victor McCann dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! #R2# McCann catches Dinklestopper with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Dinklestopper slips under a jab from McCann. McCann just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromDinklestopper.#TD2# McCann shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than McCann was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!#SUB2# McCann is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dinklestopper knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. McCann has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McCann landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. #ROC2# Dinklestopper is rocked!#T1##SUB2# McCann working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. McCann lands a strong strike to the head of Dinklestopper. That's dazed him! McCann looking to finish here. Dinklestopper is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - McCann lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
