Mfer cracks Davids with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Mfer connects with a right hand. Davids shakes it off. Mfer throws the left hand but Davids avoids the punch easily. Mfer dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Mfer has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. A lazy left from Mfer finds it's target. Davids throws a head kick but Mfer moves out of range.
A head kick from Mfer lands but Davids takes it in his stride. #CL2# Mfer clinches up with Davids and pushes him back against the cage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mfer gets through Davids's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Mfer is working Davids over against the cage. Davids is breathing heavily. Mfer lands with a light punch inside. Davids is trying to control Rivera's posture but Rivera avoids it. #SUB2# Rivera has an Americana. Davids didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Rivera is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Rivera hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Abner dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Davids shoots in but Abner avoids the takedown attempt easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Abner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Abner let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Davids dives in and grabs Abner's left leg, looking for a takedown. Abner pushes down on Davids's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dennis Davids.
