The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Diaz tries to get back to half guard but can't. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diaz bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! and O'Neil counters with a slapping leg kick. Cullen takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Good leg kick by O'Neil there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
O'Neil turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. O'Neil ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cullen moves away. O'Neil bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Cullen's head backwards. O'Neil misses with a left hand and Cullen makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Cullen on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by O'Neil. O'Neil obviously looking to wear him down.

#R1# Mcgregor takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Cullen feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Mcgregors jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Mcgregor has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Cullen's jab looks to have found its range, popping Mcgregor under the eye. Cullen paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.#ROC# Mcgregor is rocked! Mcgregor finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Cullen's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Mcgregor falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
