He's got his arms around Padilla's waist but Padilla gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diaz off to one side. Padilla displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Diaz. #CL# Padilla instigates a clinch. Padilla is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

#T3# Padilla can't keep his opponent in guard - Diaz advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Padilla wants to get back to full guard. Padilla is breathing heavily. Diaz landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Diaz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Padilla does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Padilla pushes Diaz off looking to stand but Diaz dives back in and keeps control.

Padilla tries to avoid it but Diaz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Padilla to the ground. Padilla escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Diaz is stalling here. Padilla is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Diaz seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Padilla has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Padilla cracks Diaz with a big elbow. You can see the frustration on Diaz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. An elbow from Padilla crashes against the mat.

Diaz on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Padilla throws a strike aimed at the side of Diaz's head but Diaz avoids it well. Padilla tries to score with some ground and pound. Diaz controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. #SUB# Padilla wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Diaz, who protects the arm well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Diaz is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Diaz gets full guard. Diaz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVB##ES# Padilla pushes Diaz off and gets back to his feet. Diaz closes the distance and lands a one-two.#T4# Diaz scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Padilla misses with a body shot.
Nick Diaz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Padilla stuns Diaz with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. No luck with that takedown attempt from Diaz. Padilla goes down and covers up as Diaz starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
