WPFC 40 - Holiday Hurt

#R1# Russia walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Barbarian loads up on a big right hand but Russia slips the punch. Barbarian feints a jab promting Russia to slip. Barbarian then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Russia slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Russia tries to clinch there but Barbarian circles away.
Barbarian throws a big shot that misses. Barbarian misses with an uppercut. Russia saw that one coming. Russia slips under a jab. Russia tries to counter with a takedown but Barbarian is quick to defend against it. Russia definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Russia lands the left hand. Russia uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Barbarian. Russia takes one to the side of the head.
Russia looks to land a right hand but Barbarian moved out of range. It seemed like Barbarian was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Barbarian misses with a looping right. Russia wants to clinch up but Barbarian keeps it at a distance. Russia throws a hook to the side of Barbarian's head but Barbarian sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Barbarian fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Russia on the side of the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A jab from Barbarian finds it's way through Russia's defenses. Barbarian has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Barbarian misses with a hook. Barbarian might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. A slow jab from Barbarian misses its intended target. Russia is looking to clinch. Russia throws a left and a right that both miss
and Barbarian counters with a straight right hand. Barbarian closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Russia! Barbarian dives in looking to finish! Russia is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

#R1# Barbarian leaves Bleak with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Bleak throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bleak lands a two punch combo.
#CUT# It looks like Barael Barbarian has been cut. Barbarian changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Bleak scores with a nice right hand.
Barbarian cracks Bleak with a right hand to the side of the head. Bleak is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
A jab from Barbarian misses. Bleak went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Barbarian throws out a powerful jab.#CUT2# It looks like Dartemis Bleak has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bleak fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Barbarian checks it well. Bleak needs to keep his hands up - Barbarian had a free shot at his head there. Bleak swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Barbarian lunges at Bleak with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Bleak's hand. Good exchange - Barbarian coming out on top. Bleak shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. #ROC2# Bleak is rocked! Barael Barbarian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bleak shoots in for a double leg but Barbarian sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Oh Bleak is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!#T1# Barbarian darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Bleak's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Barbarian before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.

#R1# Barbarian connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. King slips a jab from Barbarian.#TD# King closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - King lands in his opponent's guard. Barbarian is looking to stand up but King isn't so interested in that idea. King passes into half guard. Barbarian really doesn't want to stay on the ground with King. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Barbarian is trying to stand.
#SUB# King is looking for a kimura but Barbarian is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for King to get the leverage. #SUB# King is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Barbarian sees it coming and defends easily. Barbarian is looking to improve his position.
#SUB# King seems to be working for a kimura but Barbarian defends the submission attempt. Barbarian tries to roll over but King keeps him under control. King controlling the action here. Barbarian is trying to stand back up but King is controlling him
#T1# Barbarian wants to get back to full guard.#SUB# King is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Barbarian is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

#R1# Tatum shoots and misses and Barbarian counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.#CUT# It looks like Drake Tatum has been cut. Barbarian defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tatum. A quick step to the side and Barbarian tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.#KD# Barbarian lands a big right hand that sends Tatum crashing to the mat! Barbarian stays standing though and waves Tatum back to his feet!#ROC# Tatum is rocked! Tatum misses with a takedown attempt and Barbarian rattles Tatum with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Tatum tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Barbarian dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Tatum stiff and motionless on the mat!

#R1# Bill thows a leg kick but Barbarian checks it and Barbarian connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.#CUT# It looks like Billy Bill has been cut. Bill shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bill takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Barbarian definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Barbarian really is a fat lump. Bill misses with a takedown attempt and Barbarian counters with a crisp right that sends Bill to the canvas! Barbarian follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

#R1# Kong throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Kong blocks a jab. Kong explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Kong lands a nice leg kick that just misses Barbarian's sensitive parts. Kong throws a front kick that sends Barbarian stumbling back into the cage. Barbarian is breathing heavily. Kong lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Barbarian walks forward, straight into a front kick from Kong. Barbarian wants to stay close but Kong steps back to make room for something. Barbarian seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Kong and Barbarian drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). King Kong! King Kong retains his heavyweight title! King Kong seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
