#R1# Shaw moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Shaw shoots in but no luck this time. #TD# Brooks closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Shaw did well to prevent Brooks getting side control. Brooks controlling the action here.#SUB2# Shaw is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Brooks pulls his head out easily. Brooks is taking a breather. Shaw says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Brooks lands a nice short elbow. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brooks landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Brooks keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brooks throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. #T1# Brooks trying to pass the guard but Shaw defending well. Brooks looks to score some points with some ground and pound.#SUB# Brooks is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Shaw sees it coming and defends easily. Shaw trying to control but Brooks postures up.
Brooks takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.#T2# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. We've been hearing good reports from Brooks's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Shaw is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Brooks lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Brooks passes to side control. #T3# Brooks controls the position. Brooks lands an elbow. Brooks controls the position. Shaw tries to strike but it doesn't land. Brooks just content to control the position. Shaw looks winded! Brooks's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.#T4# My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Shaw is looking to regain half guard here but Brooks keeps moving and retains side control. Brooks advances nicely into full mount. A nice elbow there by Brooks. Brooks controlling the pace for now. Brooks pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Brooks raining down shots from the mount! Brooks controlling from the full mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carl Brooks dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Brooks in side control, just content to control the action for now. Brooks working the ground and pound. Shaw tries to buck Brooks off but Brooks is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. You can see the frustration on Shaw's face as Brooks controls the position. Shaw is breathing heavily.#T1# Brooks scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Shaw to see if he's OK. Shaw gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Brooks has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Shaw's face.

Brooks has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Further stalling from Brooks. Brooks softening up his opponent with strikes here.
Brooks lands shots from the back. Brooks lands strikes to the head. Shaw is still in real trouble! Can Brooks finish him?#CUT# It looks like DJ Shaw has been cut.#T3# Brooks has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Shaw's body.
#SUB# Brooks is cranking Shaw's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Shaw! He's tightened the choke and Shaw is tapping out!

#R1##TD2# Shaw drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shaw taking a breather here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stephenson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Shaw asserts his dominance and retains side control.#SUB2# Shaw tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Shaw has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Shaw trying to control the position but Stephenson is working away. Shaw tries to stand but Stephenson is controlling his head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stephenson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Shaw is controlling him well. Stephenson is not content to let Shaw control the position. Stephenson struggling a bit here.#T1# Stephenson defending against the ground and pound. Stephenson gets back to half guard. Stephenson looks like he's trying to stand up.
#SUB# Stephenson looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stephenson is trying to stand up here but Shaw is controlling him well. Stephenson is staying active underneath Shaw, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.#T2# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Shaw prevents Stephenson from improving his position. Shaw is pressing down on Stephenson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Stephenson is holding on for now. Shaw trying to control from half guard but Stephenson is working away. #REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.#CL# Stephenson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shaw, pushing him back against the cage.#TD# Stephenson has picked Shaw up - he's going for a ride! Stephenson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.#SU# Stephenson decides to stand up. #CL# Stephenson closes the distance and clinches. #T3##BC2# Shaw manages to break the clinch.

Stephenson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
#T4# Stephenson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Shaw eats them both and turns towards Stephenson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!#CL# Stephenson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Stephenson pressing his opponent against the cage. Shaw wants to break the clinch but can't.

#TD2# Shaw looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Stephenson! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shaw is looking for a sweep. Stephenson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Stephenson working Shaw over with strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stephenson winds up and cracks Shaw with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Stephenson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Shaw on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Stephenson is really dominating this fight. Shaw feints a jab promting Stephenson to slip. Shaw then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Stephenson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.#CL2# Shaw clinches up with Stephenson and pushes him back against the cage.#T2##TD# Stephenson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Shaw can't fight it off and eventually Stephenson manages to take the fight to the floor. Shaw looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shaw is trying to control the position but Stephenson postures up. #SUB2# Shaw looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Stephenson has picked Shaw up and slammed him! Shaw can't keep hold of the triangle and Stephenson manages to pass to side control!#SU# Stephenson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. A left and a right from Stephenson both land. Nice combination. Stephenson scores with a one two! Shaw had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. #T3##CL# Stephenson clinches up with Shaw and pushes him back against the cage.#TD# Stephenson is trying to trip Shaw. He has hold of a leg but Shaw is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Stephenson persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Stephenson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. #SU# Stephenson stands up and waves to Shaw to follow him. #CL# Stephenson closes the distance and clinches. #T4##TD# Stephenson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Stephenson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Stephenson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Shaw is controlling him. Stephenson is pulling down on Shaw's head to control his posture. Shaw throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Stephenson pulls Shaw in close to prevent any damage. Stephenson is looking to stand up but Shaw isn't so interested in that idea. Stephenson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. #REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aldo Stephenson dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round! #R3# Shaw showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Stephenson.
#TD2# Shaw gets the takedown into side control. #ES# Stephenson sneaks out the side door and pushes Shaw away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.#TD2# Shaw throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stephenson was covering up waiting for the punch and Shaw finishes the takedown easily into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Stephenson pulls Shaw in close to his closed guard and prevents Shaw from doing any damage or advancing position. Shaw takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Stephenson wants to stand up but Shaw is controlling him. #T1# Stephenson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.#ES# Stephenson is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Shaw presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. #BC# Stephenson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Aldo Stephenson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Stephenson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shaw. Shaw throws a counter combo.
And that's the end of the fight! Aldo Stephenson showed his dominance in that final round. Well Stephenson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
