#R1# Lowry wants to clinch. Kennedy looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!#KD# Lowry drops Kennedy with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Kennedy looks back up at him and smiles so Lowry waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
#CUT# It looks like Lyndon Kennedy has been cut. Lowry closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Kennedy! Lowry dives in looking to finish! Kennedy is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fred Lowry!

#R1# We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Mejia misses with the combination.
Mejia tries to clinch up but Kennedy circles away and keeps his distance. Mejia really is a fat lump. Mejia tries to close the distance and clinch but Kennedy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kennedy slips a jab and a cross from Mejia.
Kennedy is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. A low kick from Mejia is predictable there #TD2# and Kennedy counters with a shoot takedown. Mejia fights it but they end up in guard. #T1# Kennedy stands up over Mejia, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Kennedy cracks Mejia with a solid left hand. Kennedy is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Kennedy gets to his feet and stands over Mejia, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Mejia felt that one! Kennedy unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Mejia from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lyndon Kennedy!
