#R1# Some wild striking there from Maniac.
Maniac tries to bum rush Schwartzmuller with a series of wild strikes but Schwartzmuller uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Schwartzmuller takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.#CL2# Schwartzmuller gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Maniac tries to circle away but Schwartzmuller has him pinned against the cage. Schwartzmuller lands a nice shot to the body. Maniac has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. A left hand lands to the body for Schwartzmuller.
Schwartzmuller stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Schwartzmuller is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Maniac trying to control the position but instead, Schwartzmuller has worked for underhooks and has pushed Maniac into the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A right hook to the body lands for Schwartzmuller.

#TD# Maniac gets a double leg takedown into Schwartzmuller's guard. Maniac won't allow Schwartzmuller to get back to his feet. Maniac postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Schwartzmuller is working the butterfly guard. Schwartzmuller drops an elbow to the side of Maniac's head. #T2# Maniac blocking the ground and pound attempt from Schwartzmuller. Schwartzmuller working the head and body with strikes. Schwartzmuller throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Maniac to regain full guard. Maniac on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Maniac tries to get out of the position. Schwartzmuller postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schwartzmuller throws an elbow that misses. Maniac uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Schwartzmuller's guard. Nice move by Maniac!#REVR# This has been an exciting period of action! Maniac slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Schwartzmuller is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Maniac is controlling him. #T3# Schwartzmuller utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Schwartzmuller has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Schwartzmuller keeping full guard, as Maniac tries to pass. #T4# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Maniac is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. #REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Schwartzmuller swats away the attempt to clinch by Maniac. Schwartzmuller tries to clinch up but Maniac circles away and keeps his distance. Hans Schwartzmuller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Schwartzmuller lands a front kick. Maniac throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Maniac lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Schwartzmuller circles away quickly and effectively. Despite the aggression on Schwartzmuller's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Maniac throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Schwartzmuller's waist but Schwartzmuller gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Maniac off to one side. Schwartzmuller wants to clinch but Maniac slips to the side and Maniac counters with a left and a right that stings Schwartzmuller. Maniac is breathing heavily. Schwartzmuller lands a big head kick that sends Maniac to the canvas! Schwartzmuller follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
