#R1# West throws a head kick that Gardarsson semi-blocks.
#TD2# Gardarsson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging West to the ground. Gardarsson is now in West's guard.#ES# West has his feet on Gardarsson's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. #TD2# Gardarsson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. West quickly recovers to half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!#SUB2# Gardarsson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Gardarsson is pressing down on West's thigh, looking to free his foot. West is holding on for now. West really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Gardarsson not landing any meaningful shots this time. #T1# Gardarsson passes to full mount! Gardarsson cracks West with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
West is squirming around, avoiding Gardarsson's attempts to control the action. Gardarsson wants to take his opponent's back but West doesn't allow it. #SUB2# West has left one of his arms exposed and Gardarsson doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. West screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Garri Gardarsson!
