#R1# Yokoi drops his hands momentarily and Sub takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Sub lands a lovely overhand right.#TD2# A momentary lapse in concentration from Yokoi enables Sub to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Yokoi manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.#SUB# Yokoi looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Sub passes into side control.
Yokoi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Sub scores with a couple of short elbows.#ROC2# Yokoi is rocked! Sub has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.#SUB2# Sub has an Americana. Yokoi didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Sub is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Sub hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

#R1# We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Merrill fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Yokoi avoids it really well and circles away. Merrill tries to score a power double leg takedown but Yokoi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Merrill somewhat. Yokoi is looking for the big counter here.#T1# We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Merrill is defended easily by Yokoi. Yokoi is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Grant Merrill. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice takedown defense from Yokoi. No joy for Merrill on that attempt. As Merrill backs off Yokoi throws a huge counter combo but Merrill manages to avoid it all.#CL# Merrill moves into the clinch successfully.
Yokoi wants to take the fight to the mat but Merrill manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Yokoi can't get the takedown.
#T2# Yokoi has Merrill pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Merrill manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. #BC# Merrill breaks the clinch.
Merrill looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.#TD# Merrill shoots in and gets a takedown into Yokoi's guard.#SUB2# Yokoi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Merrill doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Akumi Yokoi opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.

Yokoi tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. A nice inside leg kick there by Sutton. That's going to slow Yokoi down. Sutton is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Yokoi passes the guard and advances to mount! Sutton tries to reverse the position but Yokoi maintains control.#SUB2# Yokoi looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!#SUB2# Sutton has left one of his arms exposed and Yokoi doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Sutton screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
