#TD2# so Volto counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Volto throwing strikes from guard but Hanayama blocks nicely. Hanayama is adopting a defensive guard. Saget throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Saget fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Volto has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Saget uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Volto. A jab from Volto misses. It looked like Saget was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Saget misses with a combination
#TD2# and Volto counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Saget! Saget is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Crapollas Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Saget is not content to let Volto control the position. Volto throws a strike aimed at the side of Saget's head but Saget avoids it well.#SUB2# Volto is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Saget knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T1# Volto moves into full mount! #SUB2# Volto goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Saget is on top in guard.

A jab lands there for Saget. Volto takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Volto swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Saget lands the left hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Saget throws a head kick that misses. Volto tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Saget! Volto is out on his feet! Saget rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Volto is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Volto is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nofud connects with a leg kick. Volto slips under a jab from Nofud. Volto half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Nofud ducks under a wild hook from Volto. Nofud looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Nofud ducks under a wild hook from Volto. A big right from Volto misses. Nofud lands a front kick. Volto takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
#KD2# Oooooh!!! Nofud has knocked Volto down with a huge combo! Nofud steps away and waves a wobbly Volto back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!#ROC2#Volto is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. BOOM! Nofud lands a beautiful left hook that drops Volto. Volto tries to recover but Nofud is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Volto lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

I was talking to Howlett's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Howlett is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Howlett pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Volto wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Volto working hard to break the clinch. Howlett keeps control of Volto as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Howlett unloads a knee to the mid-section. Volto lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Volto letting Howlett take a breather here. Volto has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Howlett avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Volto being controlled against the cage. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Volto has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Volto being controlled against the cage. Howlett is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Volto is defending well for now. Volto is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Nice body kick from Howlett. Howlett lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Volto circles away quickly and effectively. Howlett fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

#CL# Emilienko moves into the clinch.#TD2# Volto turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Emilienko seems a little lost for a moment, as Volto dominates the positioning. You can see the frustration on Emilienko's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Volto looks up at the clock and then as Emilienko takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Volto smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Volto looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Emilienko tries to bench press Volto off him but Volto keeps the position. Volto has knee on belly and moves into mount. Volto looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

It seemed like Volto was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Volto might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Gyos has got the better of the exchanges. Gyos rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Volto moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Despite the aggression on Volto's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
