#R1##TD# Asakura closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Correia to the mat! Correia manages to get full guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Asakura looking to control the position here, rather than advance. #SUB2# Correia is looking for a triangle but Asakura pushes his legs off easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Asakura is looking to stand up but Correia won't let him. #SU# Asakura gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. #T1# Correia on the wrong end of a nice jab. Correia moves in looking to clinch but Asakura pushes him off.#TD# Asakura looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Asakura distracts Correia with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Correia looking for a sweep. Not yet Correia, not yet. Correia working a defensive guard here.
Asakura tries to stand but Correia is controlling from the bottom. #T2# Asakura stays in close to Correia's body and controls the position. Correia working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Asakura. #REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Correia, right into the meat.
#TD# Asakura throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Correia was covering up waiting for the punch and Asakura finishes the takedown easily into guard. Correia looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Correia looking to control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Correia can do anything to dispel that myth. Correia working a defensive guard but Asakura manages to pass into side control anyway.
#T3# Asakura controls the position from side control. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Asakura in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Asakura landing a few strikes. #SUB# Asakura looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. #SUB# Asakura working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Correia can't do much from the bottom here. #T4# Correia tries to improve position but can't. Asakura is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Correia's shoulder. That is not cool. Correia is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Correia is trying to strike from the bottom but Asakura has passed into full mount.#T5# Correia is squirming around, avoiding Asakura's attempts to control the action. Correia squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Correia wants to control but Asakura is having none of it. Asakura controlling his opponent. Correia keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Asakura avoids the attempt from Correia to control.#T6# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Asakura landing strikes from the mount and Correia is in trouble! Correia is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Asakura with a couple of short strikes.#SUB# Asakura wants to finish this one by submission but Correia is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Asakura. Asakura wants to control the pace but Correia is squirming around nicely. Correia wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Correia grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. Asakura controlling from the back.#T9##SUB# Asakura tightening his grip on Correia, looking for the choke. Correia trying to control the action but Asakura just sinks the hooks in. Asakura controlling from the back. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Asakura is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Asakura gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Asakura gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Asakura apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Tyson Asakura dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round! #R2# Correia wants to clinch up but Asakura keeps it at a distance. Asakura swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Correia tries to counter with a clinch but Asakura shakes him off and moves away. Correia fails with a takedown attempt. Asakura throws a big counter combination but Correia scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Correia fails with the takedown and Asakura counters with a series of strikes. Correia will be more careful next time no doubt. Correia looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Tyson Asakura has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Manel Correia. Correia thows a leg kick but Asakura checks it #TD# and Asakura counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Correia tries to get to full guard but Asakura has control of the leg. Asakura performing his best blanket impression for a moment. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.#T1# Asakura lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Asakura stalling. Asakura is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Correia can do to turn this around? Correia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Asakura. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#T2# The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Asakura prevents Correia from improving his position. Asakura controlling the action here.#REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Correia wants to clinch up but Asakura keeps it at a distance.#T3# Asakura fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Correia wants to counter with a clinch but Asakura pushes him away.#TD2# Correia shoots in and bounces Asakura off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.#ES# Asakura scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Asakura shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Correia as he avoids it easily. Asakura dives in for a single leg takedown but Correia sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.#CL# Asakura gets in close and instigates a clinch. #TD2# Correia decides to pull guard. #T4# The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!#SUB2# Correia looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Asakura has picked Correia up and slammed him! Correia can't keep hold of the triangle and Asakura manages to pass to side control! A lull in the action here.#SU# Asakura stands up and we're back to a striking position. Correia tries to clinch up and Asakura counters with a three punch combo that has Correia backing up. Correia nods at Asakura to acknowledge the strikes. Asakura tries to clinch but Correia moves out of range. #TD2# Correia fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Asakura sprawls well initially but Correia persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Asakura is pressing down on Correia's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.#T5# Asakura controlling Correia's posture. Asakura has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Correia missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Correia must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Asakura working a defensive guard here.
Tyson Asakura overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.#SUB2# Correia is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Asakura is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Asakura has escaped and now he's on top! #REVR##T6# The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Asakura has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Correia is proving hard to escape from. Asakura is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Correia wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Asakura manages to pass to side control. Asakura winds up and cracks Correia with a swinging punch to the side of the head. #T7# Asakura wants to stand up but Correia is controlling the position.

Correia is staying active underneath Asakura, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Nice move. #REVR# Asakura looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Asakura lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Asakura seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Correia does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Manel Correia has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tyson Asakura is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.#SUB# Asakura is working for a kimura but Correia is defending it quite comfortably.
And that's the end of the fight! Tyson Asakura showed his dominance in that final round. Well Asakura has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
