#R1# Vegas with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Mendez to score with a decent uppercut. Vegas doesn't succeed with the takedown and Vegas takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Vegas gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Mendez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Vegas looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Mendez lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Vegas shoots in for a takedown but Mendez shows good takedown defense. Carlos Mendez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Subby Vegas. Vegas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Subby Vegas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mendez lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vegas fails with the takedown and Mendez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Mendez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Vegas. Mendez goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.#T1# Mendez lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
A jab from Mendez finds it's way through Vegas's defenses. Vegas takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Jab by Mendez. Vegas takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Vegas dives in and grabs Mendez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mendez pushes down on Vegas's head and hops out. Mendez is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Mendez throws a shot to the body.
Vegas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mendez's waist but Mendez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vegas off to one side. Vegas with a lazy takedown attempt #CL# and Mendez counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Mendez. Mendez taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Mendez looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Mendez as Vegas tries to tie him up. Mendez lands with a light punch inside. #T2# Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Vegas's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Mendez lands with a short head shot on the inside. Mendez lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Mendez is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Vegas is keeping busy. Vegas avoiding damage.
Mendez tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Vegas's elbow. Mendez lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Mendez lands a right hand. Vegas trying to control the position but instead, Mendez has worked for underhooks and has pushed Vegas into the cage. Mendez displaying some good clinch control by pressing Vegas up against the cage. Vegas drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mendez pulls his leg out and moves away.
#T3# Vegas has his takedown stuffed and Mendez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. #TD2# Vegas shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mendez is trying to defend but Vegas finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Mendez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vegas on the ground. Mendez is trying to maintain the position but Vegas is very close to passing his half guard. Mendez is looking to improve his position.
Mendez is working hard here to advance position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mendez is looking to get back to is feet but Vegas passes into side control.
Vegas has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Mendez!#T4##SUB2# Vegas working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Mendez looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Vegas! Submission of the night perhaps?

#R1##TD2# Vegas closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ramalho did well to prevent Vegas getting side control. Vegas with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Ramalho on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ramalho tries to get out of the position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Vegas connects with a nice short shot to Ramalho's temple. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vegas passes the guard and advances to mount! Vegas fails to move to back control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T1# Ramalho is trying to escape the mount.
Vegas controlling from the full mount. My spies in Island Sparring inform me that Vegas has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!#SUB2# Vegas looking to isolate an arm here. Ramalho doesn't see it coming and as Vegas extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Vegas!

#CUT# It looks like Subby Vegas has been cut. Havoc fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Havoc lands a right hook to the body.
No luck for Vegas with that takedown attempt. Havoc lunges at Vegas with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Vegas's hand. Subby Vegas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vegas on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Vegas shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Havoc counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Vegas shoots for a double leg takedown but Havoc sprawls well. He's pushed Vegas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Wreak Havoc has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Subby Vegas. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Havoc displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vegas. Havoc fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Vegas looks winded!#T1##KD# Havoc drops Vegas with a beautiful combination! Vegas stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Havoc is looking for the KO!#KD# Havoc cracks Vegas with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Vegas looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Havoc finish him?
#ROC# Vegas is rocked!#CUT# That has opened up Subby Vegas's cut even more. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vegas misses with a takedown attempt and Havoc counters with a lovely shot to the body. Vegas is still on wobbly legs! Can Havoc finish him? Havoc is looking to wear down Vegas with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Vegas takes a shot right to the bread basket. Vegas seems to have recovered his senses.#KD# Havoc drops Vegas with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Vegas looks back up at him and smiles so Havoc waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Havoc fakes the body blow, causing Vegas to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Vegas goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Wreak Havoc ! Wreak Havoc decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
