We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Neffgen tries to get out of the position. Rubson landing some decent shots from guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Neffgen jumps guard but Austin turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. #BC2# Neffgen manages to break the clinch.
Neffgen throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Austin's head. Neffgen throws a sloppy head kick and Austin moves out of range easily. Neffgen throws a combination that misses and Neffgen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Neffgen throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Neffgen lands a head kick. Austin smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.#CL# Austin rushes Neffgen and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Austin wants to break free but Neffgen has control.

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Austin walks away with a smile on his face. Neffgen gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Neffgen's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Neffgen's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Neffgen is looking to clinch but Austin is avoiding it.

Austin presses Neffgen against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Neffgen looks winded! Austin lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Neffgen or not. Austin gets through Neffgen's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Still in the clinch, Austin scores with a nice short uppercut. Austin creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Neffgen with a big uppercut! Neffgen tries to clinch up but Austin pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Neffgen to the mat! Neffgen covers up and Austin unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Charlie Austin! A very excited looking Charlie Austin rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

We've been informed that Dozer has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Dozer wants a takedown.
