Toecur with a poor takedown
enabling Goon to counter with a crisp jab.
Toecur shoots in looking for a takedown. Goon tries to sprawl out of it but Toecur keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Goon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hefier Toecur seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Toecur throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Goon's waist but Goon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Toecur off to one side.
Texas Goon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hefier Toecur.
Goon lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Toecur circles away quickly and effectively.
Toecur is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Toecur tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Goon defends well and Toecur ends up having to push Goon into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

It looks like Hefier Toecur has been cut.

and Goon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Toecur shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Goon counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Toecur has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!

Pennington wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Toecur's closed guard. He's half up but Toecur has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Toecur pivots and extends the arm, Pennington falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Toecur! Well done that man!
