I was talking to Da Costa's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.#BC# Da Costa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Fox scores with a crisp jab that stopped Da Costa in his tracks. #CUT2#It looks like Tiago Da Costa has been cut. Fox throws a body kick that misses. Da Costa throws a big counter combination but Fox scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Da Costa moves out of range of the body kick from Fox.
It looked like Da Costa wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Fox misses with a body shot.
Fox throws a left and a right that both miss
and Da Costa counters with a one-two to the body. Da Costa is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fox. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Fox throws a lazy body kick and Da Costa connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.#T1# Nice shot lands for Fox. Da Costa tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Fox manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Fox scores with a hook to the body. Da Costa takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Fox tries a head kick but it misses.
A little feinted left hand from Da Costa on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Da Costa avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Da Costa seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Fox, as that shot connected.

Stein misses with a straight right. #CL2# Stein rushes Da Costa and presses him up against the cage. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Stein working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Stein landing some nice looking knees to the body.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ubereem looks to score with a jab to the body but Da Costa is just out of range. Da Costa is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Da Costa tries for a takedown but Ubereem circles away easily and Ubereem counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Da Costa is lucky that one didn't land flush. Da Costa fails with the takedown and Ubereem counters with a lovely shot to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ubereem scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Ubereem waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Da Costa. Ubereem lands a jab to the head.
#CUT#It looks like Tiago Da Costa has been cut. Ubereem has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Motts fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Da Costa manages to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boaler is stalling in the full guard. #SUB2# Da Costa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Boaler doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Boaler manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. #SUB2# Da Costa is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Boaler is aware though and is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#SUB2# Da Costa working for a triangle but Boaler defends it easily.

Da Costa slips a jab from Jones. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Da Costa checks a leg kick. Da Costa tries to counter by closing the distance. A jab from Jones misses. Nice body punch from Jones. Jones throws a hook but Da Costa blocks it. Jones throws a body shot but no joy. Da Costa is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Da Costa tries for a takedown but Jones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Da Costa takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Hammer throws a body punch but Da Costa moves out of range. Da Costa with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hammer to score with a decent uppercut.#CUT# It looks like Tiago Da Costa has been cut. Da Costa uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hammer. Hammer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Da Costa. Da Costa throws a big counter head kick but Hammer avoids it with no problem. A punch combination from Hammer misses.
