Christie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Guy defends well and Christie ends up having to push Guy into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Guy lands a body punch. Guy fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Christie has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Guy is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Guy misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Guy is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. A short right from Guy. Christie blocks a body shot from Guy. Guy is leaning against Christie and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Guy throws a head punch that misses. #R1# Christie displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Forge. #TD2# Christie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Christie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Forge holding on. Christie scores with punches from side control. Forge tries to get back to half guard but can't. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Let's hope that Christie has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. My spies in Cope's Gym inform me that Christie has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Christie might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Christie thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tournament can do anything to dispel that myth. Christie content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Christie prevents Tournament from standing back up.
