Mcguinness shoots in for a takedown but Williams shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Mcguinness tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Williams paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Mcguinness feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Williams ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Williams throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
No luck for Hughes with that takedown attempt.
Williams looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Williams fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hughes looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Williams swings for the body but Hughes moves out of range.

Hughes seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Williams throws a right and a left that Maynard avoids nicely.
Maynard could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Maynard takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Williams connects with a body shot that sends Maynard's belly button to the back.
