It's a sloppy attempt though and Saunier jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Fires controls Saunier momentarily but Saunier frees himself. Fires has his hands on Saunier's head, controlling the position. Fires looking to control.
Saunier won't allow Fires to sweep him here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Saunier forces his way into half guard. Saunier wants to control but Fires is keeping him busy. Saunier is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Fires! #T1# Saunier with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.

#R1# A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Domicio. Fires scores with a punch to the head.#CUT2# It looks like Lucio Domicio has been cut. Domicio has been working on his balance at Poseidon MMA, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Fires. Domicio bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A slow jab from Fires misses its intended target. #CL# The fight moves into the clinch position. Domicio lands a nice uppercut.#TD# Domicio has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Fires regains guard immediately. Domicio is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Domicio seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Fires for as long as he can get away with. Fires really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Domicio. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#SUB# Domicio drops back looking for a leg! Fires is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fires manages to kick Domicio off! Domicio jumps back into Fires's guard. #T1# Domicio pushes down on Fires's leg and manages to get into half guard.#SUB# Domicio is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Fires has managed to free his arm - good work. #SUB# Domicio is looking for a kimura here.
Domicio is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! #T2# Domicio moves to back control. Fires is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

#R1# Fires has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Escobar finds it's way round the side to connect with Fires's head. Fires throws a lazy right hand but Escobar sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Fires lands a right hook to the body.
Fires thumps Escobar with a low kick. Fires scores with a jab to the head.
Escobar throws a nice inside leg kick. Fires listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.#ROC# Escobar is rocked! Escobar tries a head kick but it misses.
Escobar is still on wobbly legs! Can Fires finish him? Escobar throws a hook but Fires avoids it easily. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Escobar.
#KD# Fires feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Escobar sprawling to the canvas! Escobar rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Fires finish him?!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. BOOM! Fires lands a beautiful left hook that drops Escobar. Escobar tries to recover but Fires is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Escobar lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
