Horrible takedown attempt by Kruger or perhaps it was just good defense by Aveline, which made it look bad.
A looping hook to the body misses from Aveline. Kruger does a little dance to reset his feet.
Aveline has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Island Sparring in the buildup to the fight.
Kruger misses with a body punch
and Kruger takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. #CUT#
It looks like Paul Kruger has been cut.
Aveline keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kruger.
Kruger steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Aveline.
Aveline missing with a left hand there. Kruger was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kruger closes the distance and clinches up with Aveline, looking for a takedown. Kruger pushes Aveline against the cage but Aveline circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.#TD2#
A momentary lapse in concentration from Aveline enables Kruger to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Aveline manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Qiang is defended easily by Aveline.#TD#
Qiang fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Aveline sprawls well initially but Qiang persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Qiang working over Aveline with some ground and pound. Aveline looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Qiang blocks the strikes from Aveline.
Aveline is looking to control Qiang's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Aveline avoid being mounted?
Qiang could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Aveline looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Qiang loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Aveline scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Qiang land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Qiang stands and salutes the crowd.
