This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Richards remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Diaz is trying to buck Richards off. Puncher throws a hook but Richards avoids it easily. Puncher will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Richards tries to throw a body punch but Peterson avoids it by throwing Richards back against the cage. #BC# Peterson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. No luck for Peterson with that takedown attempt. #TD2# Richards feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Peterson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Richards has eaten all the pies! Peterson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Richards. Richards working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Peterson's head.
