Rocca lands a jab. Rocca throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Rocca bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Viera's head backwards. Rocca lands with an uppercut that bounces Viera off the cage and back into range. Rocca thuds a left hand into Viera's body. Viera will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Rocca is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Rocca, as that shot connected.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Still in the clinch, Rocca scores with a nice short uppercut. I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rocca lands a jab-cross combination. #ROC# Viera is rocked! Rocca throws a sloppy head kick and Viera moves out of range easily. Viera is still on wobbly legs! Can Rocca finish him? Rocca closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Viera! Rocca dives in looking to finish! Viera is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Reno Rocca! A very excited looking Reno Rocca rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

#R1# Lidell dives in for a single leg takedown but Viera sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. We've been told by Viera's head coaches at Cozad The Island that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Lidell has a takedown stuffed. Viera keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Rodolfo Viera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chuck Lidell. Lidell tries to clinch but fails miserably #TD# and Viera counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Viera working the head and body with strikes. #SUB# Viera maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Lidell could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Viera has cracked it and Lidell is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Viera!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. It looks like Viera might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Pereira is trying to control the position but Viera postures up. #T1# Viera postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Viera distracts Pereira with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Viera is stalling in the full guard. #SU2# Viera decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Viera throws a body punch but Pereira moves out of range. Pereira swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Viera misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Viera shoots in and drives through. Pereira sprawls well. #R1# Viera tries to clinch but Knuckles moves out of range. Viera throws a right hand that Knuckles ducks under and follows up with a left that Knuckles also avoids with ease. Viera throws a shot from downtown. Knuckles moves away and avoids it. Viera defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Knuckles. As Knuckles backs off Viera throws a huge counter combo but Knuckles manages to avoid it all.#TD2# Knuckles gets caught napping as Viera dives in and scores a takedown. Knuckles manages to retain guard.#SUB# Viera got a little sloppy there for a moment and Knuckles has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Viera has managed to get both his arms back between Knuckles's legs - danger averted. Knuckles working a defensive guard but Viera manages to pass into side control anyway.

Knuckles tries to strike from the bottom but misses.#SUB2# Viera wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Knuckles, who protects the arm well. Viera prevents Knuckles from escaping the position. Knuckles is trying to get back to half guard.#SUB2# Viera has hold of Knuckles's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Knuckles tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Viera cranks the arm and Knuckles screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Knuckles, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
