#R1# De Lima throws a hook to the side of Goodwin's head but Goodwin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Goodwin shoots and misses and De Lima counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Nice takedown defense from De Lima. No joy for Goodwin on that attempt. Goodwin circles away from the clinch attempt.
Goodwin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. De Lima misses with the combination.
Goodwin throws out a counter right but De Lima avoids it with no problem. Goodwin showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from De Lima.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Goodwin misses with an uppercut

We've been hearing good reports from De Lima's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Goodwin wants to control the pace but De Lima is squirming around nicely. Goodwin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Goodwin content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Akishev is looking to stand up but Goodwin isn't so interested in that idea. Goodwin stands up over Akishev, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Akishev wants to get back to his feet but Goodwin is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Goodwin is stalling in the full guard. Goodwin pushes down on Akishev's leg and manages to get into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Goodwin scoring with strikes to the body and head. Goodwin landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Goodwin content to control rather than advance. #T1# Goodwin is nestled in close to Akishev, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Goodwin in particular looking to stall. Goodwin is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Goodwin seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Goodwin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Akishev with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Oh Akishev is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Goodwin passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Akishev! Akishev seems to have got his legs back now. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Goodwin lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Akishev hang on? Akishev wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Goodwin putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Goodwin working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Goodwin lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Akishev is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Goodwin unloading with bombs! Goodwin looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Akishev covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

#R1# Goodwin takes a swing at Te Tai's ribcage but misses. Te Tai throws a lazy head kick #TD2# and Goodwin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Te Tai's guard.#ES# Te Tai pushes Goodwin off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. #TD2# Goodwin shoots in and bounces Te Tai off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Te Tai is looking to stand up but Goodwin isn't so interested in that idea. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Goodwin's corner. There ya go! There ya go! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Goodwin showing good wrestling skills to control the position. It looks like Goodwin might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.#ES# Te Tai has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Goodwin is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!#TD2# Goodwin has hold of one of Te Tai's legs. Te Tai is fighting the takedown attempt but Goodwin gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Te Tai is wriggling around but Goodwin manages to pass to half guard.

He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Goodwin preventing the sweep. Bravo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Goodwin slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Goodwin connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Bravo some visible discomfort.
Bravo is trying to control Goodwin's posture but Goodwin avoids it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Goodwin working the ground and pound. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Goodwin is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Goodwin gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up.
