Almeida could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Almeida trying to control the position from guard on top but Eriksson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Almeida missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Almeida stopping the sweep attempt from Eriksson. Almeida loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Almeida stands and throws Eriksson's legs to the side, diving into side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lochlan is trying to stand up here but Almeida is controlling him well. Almeida sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Those never looked like landing. Almeida tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Despite the aggression on McCray's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. McCray tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Almeida defends well and McCray ends up having to push Almeida into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. McCray tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Almeida swivels and escapes. Almeida dodges the punch combination from McCray.
