#R1# Vyrls shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Vyrls shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Novez defends it nicely. Novez swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.#CL2# Novez closes the distance and pushes Vyrls back into the cage.#T1# We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vyrls is trying to drag Novez to the mat but Novez just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jona Vyrls. That's going to take a lot out of him.#TD2# Novez has Vyrls pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Novez pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Vyrls tumbling to the mat - Novez dives into Vyrls's guard. Novez controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Novez preventing the sweep. Vyrls wants to improve his position but instead Novez has moved into half guard.
Vyrls wants to get back to full guard. Novez trying to control the action but Vyrls is working from the bottom. Novez might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Vyrls haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.#T2# Novez uses his free foot to push down on Vyrls's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Vyrls. Novez controlling his opponent. #SUB2# Novez looking for a guillotine from mount but Vyrls is having none of it. Novez trying to control but Vyrls is having none of it. #SUB2# Vyrls tries to improve his position but Novez has taken his back! Novez has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Vyrls tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Novez pushes Vyrls away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
