William throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. We've been told by William's head coaches at Montreal Community Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. William slaps away a takedown attempt from Ribeiro, before circling back to the center of the mat.#TD2# Ribeiro looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. William is looking to get back to is feet but Ribeiro passes into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ribeiro gets to mount! William was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Daniel Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Diaz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Daniel Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruno Ribeiro. Ribeiro tries to clinch there but Diaz circles away.

Sheppard throws a half hearted mid kick. And Ribeiro tries to counter it with a takedown but Sheppard pushes his down on his head and steps out. Ribeiro closes the distance but Sheppard moves to the side #TD# and Sheppard counters with a single leg into guard. Ribeiro didn't expect that. Sheppard won't allow Ribeiro to get back to his feet. Sheppard is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Sheppard keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Ribeiro's head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ribeiro keeping moving, preventing Sheppard from controlling successfully. Ribeiro working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sheppard. #T1# A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ribeiro holds on and takes a little breather. #SUB# Sloan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ribeiro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Sloan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ribeiro controls the pace. Sloan seems keen to control Ribeiro's posture. Ribeiro seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sloan pulls Ribeiro in to control the position. Ribeiro showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. That was a close round but I would say that Jacinto Sloan will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Ribeiro arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
