A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hartmann is defended easily by Podnar.#CL# Podnar clinches with his opponent.
Podnar tries to land knees in the clinch but Hartmann avoids the damage to the body. #TD2# Hartmann manages to pull guard.
Hartmann is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVB# We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hartmann takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Hartmann drops an elbow to the side of Podnar's head. Hartmann working the head and body with strikes. #T1# The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hartmann connects with a nice short shot to Podnar's temple. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hartmann looking to pass the guard. Hartmann throwing strikes from guard but Podnar blocks nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hartmann is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. #T2# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hartmann lands a couple of digs. Hartmann has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hartmann won't allow Podnar to get back to his feet. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hartmann's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Hartmann works over Podnar with some ground and pound from guard. Podnar being controlled here, momentarily. Hartmann distracts Podnar with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Podnar looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hartmann is one step ahead there. Hartmann makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rammsie Hartmann dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. #R2# Podnar misses with a takedown attempt - Hartmann sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Hartmann looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Podnar tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hartmann was well out of range. Poor timing from Podnar.#CL# Podnar fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hartmann, pushing him back against the cage. Hartmann is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.#TD2# Hartmann gets a trip takedown into half guard. Podnar pushes Hartmann off but Hartmann dives into side control.
Podnar is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Hartmann connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Podnar some visible discomfort.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hartmann scoring with punches and elbows. Podnar tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hartmann wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. #T1# A lull in the action here as Hartmann stalls from top position. Hartmann scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Podnar to see if he's OK. Hartmann controlling from side mount. Hartmann in side control lands a decent elbow. Hartmann has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Hartmann scores with a couple of short elbows. Hartmann looks up at the clock and then as Podnar takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hartmann smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
#T2# Hartmann trying to control the position but Podnar is working away. Hartmann creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Hartmann lands a nice forearm strike. Hartmann wants to control but Podnar is keeping him busy. Hartmann landing strikes. Hartmann lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Podnar down.

He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Podnar is hurt! He's hurt bad - Hartmann fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Podnar from any more punishment! Congratulations to Hartmann! Great finish!

#R1# Podnar wants to clinch. Podnar's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Vader connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Podnar scrambles back to his feet. Podnar takes one on the chin but seems OK.
#TD# Podnar throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Vader tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Podnar is in Vader's guard.#SU# Podnar gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Vader feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Podnars jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Vader scores with a punch to the head. Vader thuds his right hand into Podnar's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vader lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Podnar at a distance.
Podnar fails with the takedown.#T1# Podnar shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Podnar looks to throw a body kick and Vader counters with a stiff right hand. Podnar shoots in and drives through. Vader sprawls well. Podnar gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Vader gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Podnar is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
