The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Drake stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Drake wants it to stay on the feet.
Patterson shoots in and drives through. Drake sprawls well.
Drake keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Drake changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Jake Drake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Preston Patterson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gilchrist turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Gilchrist manages to end up in side control.
Patterson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gilchrist wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Patterson told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

We've been hearing good reports from Gilchrist's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Terror got a little sloppy there for a moment and Patterson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Terror has managed to get both his arms back between Patterson's legs - danger averted.
