#TD# and Smirnov counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Krasnov trying to control the position.
Krasnov pulls Smirnov in close to prevent any damage. Krasnov is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Smirnov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Smirnov drops back, looking for a kneebar! Krasnov looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Krasnov looks to have wriggled free... The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Krasnov tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Smirnov is squirming around, avoiding Krasnov's attempts to control the action. Krasnov fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Smirnov can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Smirnov tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Krasnov tries to get the hooks in deep but Smirnov pushed the leg off. #SUB2# Krasnov is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Smirnov is defending well though. Krasnov let's go of the attempt for now. Krasnov missing with strikes from the back. #SUB2# Smirnov defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Krasnov's arms. Smirnov trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. #T2# The crowd are loving this. Great action here.#SUB2# Krasnov looking to break Smirnov's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Smirnov remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Krasnov will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!#SUB2# Krasnov is cranking Smirnov's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Smirnov! He's tightened the choke and Smirnov is tapping out!

Will he get it? Summers is fending him off so far but Smirnov persists. Nope, Summers circles away and we're back to standing. Smirnov misses with a hook
and Summers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Summers throws a body shot but no joy. Summers tests Smirnov's chin there with a solid looking shot. Summers moves out of range of the strikes. No joy there for Summers, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Summers uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Smirnov. Summers cracks Smirnov with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Smirnov loads up on a big right hand but Summers slips the punch. The fighters circling - Smirnov throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Smirnov throws an overhand right that lands on Summers's shoulder, as Summers tries to avoid the shot. Smirnov lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Summers backs up against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Summers throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Summers lands a glancing blow to the side of Smirnov's head. Summers will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Smirnov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Smirnov takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Scruggs, as that shot connected.
The fighters circling - Smirnov throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Scruggs ducks under a wild hook from Smirnov. Scruggs shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smirnov as he jumps to the side. Smirnov tries to counter with a takedown but Scruggs is quick to defend against it. Nice shot by Scruggs. Buster Scruggs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Scruggs slips a jab from Smirnov. Scruggs's coach down at fuck you was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Scruggs's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Smirnov dips to his left and cracks Scruggs with an uppercut! Smirnov moves out of range of the strikes. Scruggs throws a big shot that misses. Smirnov takes a shot right to the bread basket. Smirnov goes for a double leg but Piaget avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Piaget continues to drive forward. Smirnov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Piaget tries to avoid it but Smirnov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Piaget to the ground. Piaget escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivan Smirnov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smirnov tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Piaget defends well and Smirnov ends up having to push Piaget into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Piaget uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Smirnov. Smirnov fails with a takedown attempt. Piaget throws a front kick that sends Smirnov stumbling back into the cage. Smirnov is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Smirnov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Karate for as long as he can get away with. Karate wants to stand but Smirnov is controlling the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smirnov sitting in guard, not really doing much. #T1# Karate wants to get back to his feet but Smirnov is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Smirnov stays in close to Karate's body and controls the position.
