A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pappas is defended easily by Lifeson. Pappas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lifeson swivels and escapes.#CL2# Lifeson gets a clinch. Pappas prevents a takedown attempt there.
Pappas has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Lifeson after a bit of a struggle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nikolaos Pappas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pappas jumps guard but Lifeson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lifeson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pappas is controlling him. Pappas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Lifeson wants to sweep but no luck. #SUB2# Lifeson looking for a guillotine here but Pappas defends easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pappas is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Pappas fails with a takedown attempt.#T4# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Pappas wants to control but Lifeson is having none of it. Lifeson controlling the position easily from mount. Pappas tries to hold on but Lifeson postures up.#T2# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Lifeson wants to stand but Pappas is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
#SU2# Lifeson stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Lifeson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Pappas defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lifeson. Pappas fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Lifeson tries to counter by closing the distance. Pappas throws a quick inside leg kick. Pappas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lifeson swats him away and circles back towards the center. #TD2# Lifeson scores a trip takedown into side control. That's going to sap some energy. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lifeson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Pappas sets himself, and Lifeson steps forward looking for the clinch! Pappas avoids it this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nikolaos Pappas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lifeson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pappas tries to avoid it but Lifeson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pappas to the ground. Pappas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. #TD2# Pappas gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lifeson to score an easy takedown into full guard.#ES# Pappas pushes Lifeson off and gets back to his feet.
#T4# Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.#TD2# Lifeson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pappas's guard. Lifeson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Lifeson is looking to work some ground and pound but Pappas has wrist control. Lifeson tries to free his leg and advance position but Pappas is retaining full guard. Pappas keeping moving, preventing Lifeson from controlling successfully. Pappas seems keen to control Lifeson's posture. Lifeson wants to stand but Pappas is controlling his posture from full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Nikolaos Pappas will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! #R3# Pappas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Pappas is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lifeson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. #CL# Pappas rushes Lifeson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Lifeson letting Pappas take a breather here. Pappas goes for a takedown attempt but Lifeson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Well, if Lifeson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Lifeson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Pappas is refusing to be controlled, as Lifeson sits in half guard. Pappas has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lifeson is working away from the top position though. Lifeson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. #T2# The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Lifeson landing strikes from the mount and Pappas is in trouble! Lifeson lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Pappas is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Pappas flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Lifeson anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Pappas and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Lifeson slips an arm under Pappas chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Lifeson has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Lifeson is squeezing on Pappas like an anaconda would it's prey. Pappas fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
