#R1# Sampsonite doesn't succeed with the takedown#TD2# and Masaev counters with a single leg into guard. Sampsonite didn't expect that. Masaev engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Sampsonite manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Masaev manages to get himself to full guard.
#REVR# Sampsonite passes easily into side control. Nice work. Masaev struggling a bit here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sampsonite is not content to let Masaev control the position. Nice strikes from Masaev there. Masaev is nestled in close to Sampsonite, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Masaev scoring with strikes to the body and head. Masaev lands strikes from half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sampsonite really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Masaev chips away with some ground and pound. Masaev doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Masaev manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Sampsonite looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Masaev lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Masaev grinds an elbow into Sampsonite's temple. Sampsonite is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Masaev unloading with bombs! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sampsonite bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! Ismail Masaev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round! #R3# Masaev swings for the body but Sampsonite moves out of range.
