Max Hermawan really struggled with his weight cut for this fight. After coming in at 198.2, he had two hours to cut the additional weight. He was unable to do so and as a result, his fight with Bel Din was cancelled.

Hermawan looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Joe is trying to control Hermawan's posture but Hermawan avoids it.

Hermawan looks up at the clock and then as Joe takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hermawan smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Joe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hermawan on the ground.
A control attempt from Joe but he's now mounted!

Hermawan is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Joe is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Joe flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Hermawan anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Joe and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Hermawan slips an arm under Joe chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Hermawan has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Hermawan is squeezing on Joe like an anaconda would it's prey. Joe fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Max Hermawan!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hermawan tries to clinch up.
Hermawan is looking to land body kicks.
A shot to the liver by Hermawan. Beautiful body shot.
Rian throws an overhand right that lands on Hermawan's shoulder, as Hermawan tries to avoid the shot.
Hermawan tries to close the distance and clinch but Rian swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
It looked like Rian wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Hermawan throws a head kick that misses.
Rian looks to land a left hand but Hermawan moved out of range nicely.
Hermawan tries to counter with a clinch but Rian shakes him off and moves away.

Rian manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hermawan on his heels. He'll look to pass Hermawan's guard now, I'm sure.
Rian is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Rian has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rian seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hermawan for as long as he can get away with.
Rian is nestled in close to Hermawan, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Rian has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rian is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hermawan knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The referee asks Rian politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Rian prefers to stall for the moment though.

Rian has an Americana. Hermawan didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Rian is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Rian hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Harrison looks to land a combination. Hermawan sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Harrison shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hermawan is trying to defend but Harrison finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Harrison is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Hermawan is in big trouble! Harrison is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Hermawan. Poor guy.

Hermawan has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Warren is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hermawan.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Hermawan is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Star Studded Beef that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Warren is working to tighten his grip on Hermawan's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Hermawan has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Warren is really squeezing tight and eventually Hermawan passes out! Warren breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Edwards has hold of Hermawan's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Hermawan tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Edwards cranks the arm and Hermawan screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Hermawan, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Mason Edwards!

Edwards working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hermawan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Edwards is tightening it up a little... Hermawan has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Hermawan reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Hermawan taps out! Nice BJJ there by Edwards!
