Cosmo throws a combination that misses and Maximus Jr counters with a lovely shot to the body. Cosmo takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Cosmo scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. #CUT#It looks like Marcus Megnus Maximus Jr Maximus Jr has been cut. Cosmo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Cosmo throws a big shot that misses. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Maximus Jr has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Maximus Jr rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cosmo moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Cosmo waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Maximus Jr. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Maximus Jr! But no joy. Cosmo throws a jab when Maximus Jr was well out of range. Maximus Jr wants to clinch up but Cosmo keeps it at a distance. Maximus Jr keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cosmo looks for the body kick but Maximus Jr saw that one coming. Cosmo lands a two punch combo.

Cosmo throws a body shot but no joy. Maximus Jr uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Maximus Jr is looking to clinch but Cosmo is avoiding it.
#TD2# Maximus Jr closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Cosmo quickly recovers to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maximus Jr trying to control the pace. Cosmo is refusing to be controlled, as Maximus Jr sits in half guard. A slow jab from Cosmo misses its intended target. Maximus Jr is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.#T4# Cosmo misses with a body shot
and Maximus Jr counters with a lovely shot to the body. The fighters circle momentarily. Maximus Jr darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Cosmo fails to land with a series of punches.

Cosmo is looking to slow Maximus Jr down with leg kicks. Hans Cosmo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A good leg kick by Maximus Jr. Maximus Jr bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Cosmo misses with a body shot
#TD2# and Maximus Jr counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Maximus Jr. Maximus Jr stopping the sweep attempt from Cosmo.#SUB2# Maximus Jr drops back looking for a leg! Cosmo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cosmo manages to kick Maximus Jr off! Maximus Jr jumps back into Cosmo's guard. Maximus Jr working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maximus Jr throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Cosmo's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Maximus Jr dives in looking to finish as Cosmo flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Maximus Jr's strikes! Maximus Jr is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Cosmo's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Cosmo was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cosmo stuffs the takedown attempt from Papas. Papas gets slowly back to his feet. Papas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Papas uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cosmo. Papas goes for a double leg but Cosmo avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Cosmo continues to drive forward. Hans Cosmo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nicky Papas. Cosmo with a hook. Papas avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Cosmo throws a good cross that connects.
#ROC#Papas is rocked! Papas showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Cosmo.
Papas is still on wobbly legs! Can Cosmo finish him? Cosmo misses with a head kick.
Papas is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Papas seems to have recovered his senses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cosmo misses with a looping left. Hans Cosmo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Papas takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
#KD# Oooooh!!! Cosmo has knocked Papas down with a huge combo! Cosmo steps away and waves a wobbly Papas back to his feet! This one might not go much longer! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Papas shoots in for a takedown but Cosmo shows good takedown defense. Cosmo with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Papas changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Cosmo wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Cosmo lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Papas can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Cosmo and Papas drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Cosmo.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Papas misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Papas shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cosmo defends it nicely. No luck for Papas with that takedown attempt. #KD# Oooooh!!! Cosmo has knocked Papas down with a huge combo! Cosmo steps away and waves a wobbly Papas back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!#ROC#Papas is rocked! Nice body punch from Cosmo. Papas is still on wobbly legs! Can Cosmo finish him? Cosmo throws out a powerful jab. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cosmo closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Papas! Cosmo dives in looking to finish! Papas is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

#R1##TD2# Parker manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cosmo on his heels. He'll look to pass Cosmo's guard now, I'm sure. Cosmo wants to get back to his feet but Parker passes into half guard.
#REVR# Parker is taking a breather. Cosmo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Cosmo is trying to stand up here but Parker is controlling him well. Cosmo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cosmo tries to get out of the position. Parker moves nicely into side control. Parker has knee on belly and moves into mount. Cosmo trying desperately to get to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Parker putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!#SUB2# Cosmo tries to buck Parker off so he can stand up but Parker has got his back now - this could be big trouble! He's slapped on a rear naked choke that looks really tight! Cosmo falls backwards, slamming Parker to the mat but Parker holds on tight! Cosmo is forced to tap and this one is all over!
