We've been hearing reports that Bones has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Bones dives in looking to finish as Mendez flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Bones's strikes! Bones is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Mendez's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Mendez was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Well Bones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Thug Bones was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
