Islandish wants to counter the offense by Zatlers and move into the clinch position.#TD2# Islandish looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Zatlers! Zatlers is looking for a sweep. Zatlers is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Islandish is controlling him well. Zatlers prevents Islandish from moving into mount. Islandish is looking to take a break and control but Zatlers is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Zatlers is looking for a sweep.#T1# Zatlers is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Islandish asserts his dominance and retains side control. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Islandish working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Islandish misses with the ground and pound. The ground and pound from Islandish seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Islandish in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Islandish scores with punches from side control. Zatlers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Zatlers looking for a sweep but Islandish has passed into full mount! Oh no!#T2# Zatlers tries to lock up and control but Islandish gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Islandish scoring with strikes but Zatlers is staying in there. Zatlers taking shots to the head. Islandish is landing with some decent strikes but Zatlers is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.#CUT2#Valdis Zatlers's cut is getting worse. Islandish scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Islandish trying to control but Zatlers is having none of it. #SUB2# Islandish swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Zatlers is now in Islandish's guard. A big mistake from Islandish there, giving up the dominant position! #T3##SUB2# The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Islandish pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Zatlers tumbling to the mat - Islandish dives into Zatlers's guard.#ES# Zatlers manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.#T2# Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. #R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zatlers tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Volkov was well out of range. Poor timing from Zatlers.#TD# Volkov closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Zatlers's guard. Volkov showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Zatlers is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Volkov works over Zatlers with some ground and pound from guard. Volkov controls from within his opponent's guard. Volkov postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Volkov is stalling in the full guard. #T1# Zatlers not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Volkov slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Volkov lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Zatlers down.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eriksson getting the better of the striking in that exchange.#CUT2#It looks like Valdis Zatlers has been cut. The fighters circling - Eriksson throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Zatlers is looking to counter punch. Eriksson scores with a jab. Zatlers acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Eriksson connects with a nice looking jab.
Zatlers tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Eriksson swivels and escapes. Zatlers shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Eriksson throws a hook to the side of Zatlers's head but Zatlers sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Eriksson throws a lazy right hand but Zatlers sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Zatlers wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Zatlers takes a shot right to the bread basket.#KD2# Eriksson lands a big right hand that sends Zatlers crashing to the mat! Eriksson stays standing though and waves Zatlers back to his feet!#ROC2#Zatlers is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Zatlers gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Eriksson gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Dynamite scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
#CUT2#It looks like Valdis Zatlers has been cut. Dynamite lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Zatlers circles away quickly and effectively. Zatlers throws a quick counter kick to the body but Dynamite avoids it. A head kick misses from Dynamite . Dynamite throws a leg kick but Zatlers checks it. Dynamite swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
#CL# and Zatlers moves into the clinch. Dynamite fails to pull guard.
Dynamite jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Zatlers walks away with a smile on his face. Dynamite gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Dynamite falls off balance throwing a combination

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nokkau rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Zatlers moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Zatlers throws a head kick that half lands.
#KD# Nokkau sends Zatlers crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Nokkau is motioning to the referee to let Zatlers up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!#CUT#It looks like Valdis Zatlers has been cut. Zatlers is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Nokkau scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nokkau works Zatlers's body with a nice hook.#KD# Nokkau cracks Zatlers with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Nokkau has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Zatlers to stand back up!#ROC#Zatlers is rocked! Zatlers throws a fast counter high kick but Farva manages to duck under it in time. Zatlers looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Farva throws a big shot that misses. Farva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Zatlers as he jumps to the side. #TD# Farva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Zatlers's guard. Farva postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Farva connects with a couple of short punches. Farva throws a big right hand that misses. Farva scores with a decent looking elbow strike. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zatlers avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Farva working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Bigelow is looking for the big counter here. Bigelow's coach down at Desert Fitness & Training -13 Elites/1 Exceptional was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Bigelow's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Bigelow lands with an overhand left. Nice takedown defense from Bigelow. No joy for Zatlers on that attempt. Bigelow gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Bigelow tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Zatlers manages to circle out of the way. Ben Bigelow is winning the standup battle so far. Bigelow throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A right-left combo lands from Bigelow. Bigelow fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bigelow throws a body shot but no joy. Zatlers tries to close the distance and clinch but Bigelow swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ben Bigelow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Valdis Zatlers. Bigelow wants to break the clinch but can't.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Zatlers takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Bigelow tries to circle away but Zatlers has him pinned against the cage. Zatlers tries for a takedown but Bigelow manages to get underhooks.
