Kings 18: Ghost vs Rock

#R1# Rock slips under a jab. Ghost seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Ghost just misses with a punch to the body.
Rock throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rock shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Ghost counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.#CUT# It looks like John Rock has been cut. Rock displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ghost throws out the jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ghost uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Ghost lands a jab to Rock's midsection.#TD2# Rock throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ghost tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rock is in Ghost's guard.#T1# Ghost is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rock stops Ghost from standing up. Rock looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Rock slips nicely into half guard. Ghost is looking to escape. Rock perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Ghost tries to kick Rock off but Rock keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Rock controlling the action here. Ghost wants to improve his position but Rock is controlling well.
#T2# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Well, if Rock is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Rock takes Ghost's back. Ghost is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Rock.
Let's hope that Rock has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Ghost tries to break free.

We've been informed that Rock has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. A couple of punches soften him up though and Rock has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Ghost taps out!

John Rock really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that EL ZOIDO FEEBLE FIGHTWEAR logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.

#R1# Nice sprawl there from McRay as Rock shoots in. Rock avoids the body shot from McRay.
Rock shoots in looking for a takedown. McRay tries to sprawl out of it but Rock keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McRay manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Rock slips under a jab from McRay. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A telegraphed right hand from McRay misses the target. McRay stuns Rock with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. McRay misses with a wild body shot. #T1# Rock looks for a takedown but McRay sprawls well. McRay feints the counter takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Rock. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rock fails with a takedown attempt.#TD# Rock shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches McRay napping and manages to drive through into side control!#ES2# McRay sneaks out the side door and pushes Rock away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. McRay's coach down at Prosper Training was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on McRay's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Scott McRay is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.#T2# McRay ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rock moves away. McRay slaps away a takedown attempt from Rock, before circling back to the center of the mat. McRay with the counter takedown but Rock avoids it easily.#TD# Rock shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in McRay's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rock stops McRay from standing up. Rock seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. McRay wants to stand and escape but Rock is having none of it. McRay really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rock. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#T3# The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rock seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Rock passes McRay's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Rock perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. #SUB# Rock maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! McRay could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Rock has cracked it and McRay is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Rock!

#R1# The fighters circling - Winslow throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Rock feints the counter takedown. Winslow is looking to clinch but Rock is avoiding it.
Rock is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Kurt Winslow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rock keeps the fight on the outside. Winslow darts in trying to clinch#TD2# and Rock counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. #SUB2# Rock is working for a kimura but Winslow is defending it quite comfortably.
Rock wants to pass the guard but Winslow is defending well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Winslow has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rock is working away from the top position though. Rock moves into full mount!
