Hatt has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Hatt throws the kick towards the body but Mckean avoids it. Mckean has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Hatt attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Mckean misses with a looping left. Hatt looks for the body kick but Mckean saw that one coming. Hatt swings and misses with a hook to the body.

He must have been on the weights. Campbell closes the distance but Hatt moves to the side and Hatt counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Campbell moves in looking to clinch but Hatt pushes him off. Earl Campbell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hatt does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Hatt lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.#CL# Campbell forces Hatt back against the cage and clinches. Hatt blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Topham Hatt is winning the standup battle so far. Hatt jabs Maru to the body, keeping him at a distance. Hatt could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Hatt throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Hatt turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Maru has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Maru there as he acknowledges the shot. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hatt connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Maru takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Maru ducks right into an uppercut from Hatt. Maru tries to clinch but Hatt is having none of it. It appears Hatt was looking to counter with a kick there. A kick lands to the mid section there for Hatt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

This is the final round! #R3# Hatt lands a nice leg kick that just misses Maru's sensitive parts. Maru moves out of range of the body kick.#CL# The fight moves into the clinch position. Maru lands with a left to the head. Hatt's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Maru tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. #BC2# Maru escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hatt swats away the attempt to clinch by Maru. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maru takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Maru is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Hatt here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Hatt fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Maru. Hatt misses with a low kick.
And Maru tries to counter it with a takedown but Hatt pushes his down on his head and steps out. Hatt moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Maru stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hatt. Maru takes one to the chin there. Maru checks a low kick from Hatt. Maru has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Hatt. Hatt connects with a nice looking jab.

#T2# Hatt scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Hatt throws a leg kick which misses Maru's front leg but catches the back leg as Maru tries to avoid it. Maru needs to keep his hands up - Hatt had a free shot at his head there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hatt thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Maru if he has to take too many more of those.
Maru moves in looking to clinch but Hatt pushes him off. Maru is looking to clinch. Hatt tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Maru defends well and Hatt ends up having to push Maru into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Maru is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Hatt lands an overhand right.#T3# Hatt throws a quick inside leg kick. Maru sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Hatt goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Maru with the counter takedown but Hatt avoids it easily. Hatt buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Maru's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Maru closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Maru throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Hatt with a body punch. A glancing blow. Maru on the wrong end of a nice jab. A bone on bone clash there as Maru blocks the leg kick.
Maru wants to clinch.#T4# Hatt connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Hatt throws a half hearted mid kick. Hatt lands a leg kick that knocks Maru off balance momentarily. Hatt fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Maru blocks a low kick nicely. Hatt throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
And that's the end of the fight! Topham Hatt showed his dominance in that final round. Well Hatt has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
