#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Penev. Konn takes a swing at Penev's ribcage but misses. Nice takedown defense from Konn. No joy for Penev on that attempt. Konn looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Penev shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Konn as he jumps to the side. Noah Konn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Penko Penev. Penev shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Konn defends it nicely. Konn changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Penev on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Penev shoots for a double leg takedown but Konn sprawls well. He's pushed Penev's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. #T1# Penev tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Konn manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Penev shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Penev takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Penev dives in for a single leg takedown but Konn sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Penev closes the distance looking to clinch #TD# so Konn counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Konn looking to pass the guard. Konn postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Vadim Konstantinov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Konstantinov slaps away a takedown attempt from Penev, before circling back to the center of the mat. Konstantinov lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.#TD# Konstantinov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Konstantinov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Penev is keeping the position for now. We've been hearing good reports from Konstantinov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Penev is on top in guard.

Penev tries to close the distance and clinch but Flowers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Flowers digs a good body shot into Penev's ribs.#CL2# Flowers forces Penev back against the cage and clinches. Penev jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Flowers walks away with a smile on his face. Penev gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Penev tries for a takedown but Flowers sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Flowers swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.#CL2# Flowers moves into the clinch.#TD# Penev has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Flowers uses from the top position. Sauce slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Penev utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
