Gatheri avoids it this time. Nice defenses there by Medvedevs. Medvedevs with the counter takedown but Gatheri avoids it easily. A big left from Gatheri misses. Medvedevs darts in looking for a takedown but Gatheri gets double underhooks and turns Medvedevs into the cage. A swing and a miss from Gatheri.#TD2# Medvedevs looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Gatheri could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Medvedevs is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Medvedevs closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gatheri circles away. Medvedevs moves to clinch but Gatheri breaks away and Gatheri counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Torin Gatheri has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nikita Medvedevs. Gatheri pounces like a tiger and cracks Medvedevs with a vicious hook! Medvedevs is down but not out! Gatheri follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

and Gatheri connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Alfinski keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

We've been informed that Alfinski has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Gatheri rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alfinski moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Alfinski throws out a counter right but Gatheri avoids it with no problem. Gatheri getting the better of the striking in that exchange. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Despite the aggression on Alfinski's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.#T4##KD2# Alfinski feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Gatheri sprawling to the canvas! Gatheri rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Alfinski finish him?!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gatheri ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Gatheri displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Alfinski. It looked like Gatheri was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Alfinski. Alfinski lands with an uppercut that bounces Gatheri off the cage and back into range. Alfinski lands a slapping body shot.

and Alfinski counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Gatheri off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Alfinski follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Gatheri was out before he hit the floor.

Our winner, Jerry Alfinski, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans. Torin Gatheri was interviewed post fight and said 'We have an opportunity to keep going.'.
