#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Doen throws a sloppy head kick and Yoshikage moves out of range easily. Yoshikage tries to counter by closing the distance. Yoshikage has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Van Doen is landing a low percentage of strikes. Van Doen lands with a slapping head kick. Van Doen throws a poor cross that misses
#TD2# so Yoshikage counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Van Doen looking for a sweep. Not yet Van Doen, not yet. #SUB# Van Doen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yoshikage doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yoshikage manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Yoshikage stays in close to Van Doen's body and controls the position. Van Doen not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yoshikage is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Van Doen has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Pereyra is landing a low percentage of strikes. Van Doen throws a leg kick which misses Pereyra's front leg but catches the back leg as Pereyra tries to avoid it. Van Doen misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Van Doen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pereyra. Pereyra motions for Van Doen to come forward. Pereyra throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Van Doen throws a solid leg kick but Pereyra takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Van Doen. As Van Doen backs away, Pereyra returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Van Doen stuns Pereyra with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Van Doen lands a leg kick that knocks Pereyra off balance momentarily.
